It is a quest for an archaic and collective experience of ecstasy, just like you find on the techno scene.

This phenomenon has caused such a sensation that in February 2001 ethnologists, sociologists and musicians from all over Europe met in Rome for a convention that went by the name of "Tarantismo e neo Tarantismo".

In the course of the convention it was reported among other things that this phenomenon was even to be found in North European cities like Berlin, at the Tarantella Trance Parties of DJ Don Francisc'!
